Behind-the-scenes with Beyonce as singer shares snaps of rehearsals for Super Bowl... but will she sing live?
After her controversial performance
at President Obaman's inauguration on Monday, Beyonce is gearing up for
her next - the Super Bowl.
And on Friday the singer, who has stayed resolutely silent over claims she lip-synched the national anthem, shared some snaps of herself in rehearsals.
In one the 31-year-old singer is seen stretching and limbering up, wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the name of her husband Jay-Z's basketball team, the Brooklyn Nets.
The second image, which is black and white, shows a wide shot of all her backup dancers in position.
Beyonce is apparently set to be joined onstage by her Destiny's Child bandmates at next Sunday's sporting event.
The singer is reported to take to the stage for the first time in over six years with Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland on February 3 and sing two of their most famous songs.
Us Weekly revealed the secret set list on Thursday for the performance at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
An insider told the magazine: 'Beyonce, will perform her hit Crazy In Love during a solo set to kick off the show.
'Midway through the act, she'll be joined by Rowland, and Williams, to sing a medley of their biggest hits starting with Bills, Bills, Bills, Survivor, and ending with their new track Nuclear.'
The source close to Beyonce told the magazine she hopes to 'knock them dead' at the Super Bowl to squash accusations that she lip-synched the National Anthem at the Inauguration Ceremony in Washington, D.C. on January 21.
'She can't wait to get on the Super Bowl stage and show everyone,' the source said.
According to the magazine's insider the whole thing is just a big misunderstanding.
'She did sing. There was a [pre-recorded] track, but Bey sang 100 percent. '[Using a pre-recorded track at live events] is very very common. The track was only there as a backup.'
The lip-synching controversy began when a spokesman for the Marine Corps Band said on Tuesday that Beyoncé did not sing in real time, instead opting for a pre-recorded track of the song.
Hours later, a Marine spokesman backed off the claim and insisted he didn't know one way or the other: 'No one in the Marine Band is in a position to assess whether it was live or pre-recorded'.
Beyonce
has yet to address the reports however, Beyonce's bandmate Michelle did
defend her Destiny's Child sister on Thursday morning on Good Morning
America.
'It’s disappointing and saddening to me,' Michelle said about the controversy that exploded in the press after members of the U.S. Marine Corps Band suggested the singer did not perform live.
'It’s just shocking to me that it’s taken on this. I love her so much. I know what she possesses.
'That was such a big moment for her and I just wish people would just let it go and just continue to look for what she’s going to be bringing for ya’ll in the future.'
