It's not just Kate, NO woman should go topless!

Image
There has been a terrific storm in a B-cup over the past week and so much, um, breast-beating over photographs published abroad and on the internet of the Duchess of Cambridge sunbathing topless on holiday in France. I don’t agree with the feminist commentator who wrote earlier this week that topless photos of the future queen are really no different to those of page three models or the likes of Kate Moss caught unawares diving from a yacht. It is the choice of these women to take off their clothes for pictures that will be scrutinised in public. Kate Moss has displayed her nipples for money so often that she can hardly mind when snapped off-duty. As nature intended: The Duchess of Cambridge being greeted by topless women in the Solomon Islands The Duchess does deserve privacy, especially on holiday, but there is an entirely different reason why I am not on her side in this case and feel she has, finally, slipped up and brought the scandal upon herself. The ashes of the ‘reluctant’ icon of the 1960s Space Race were transported on the guided missile cruiser USS Philippine Sea and were committed to the Atlantic Ocean. Yesterday, Armstrong was praised in a memorial service at the National Cathedral as a humble hero who led mankind into space. Cameron in Tory unity plea... as poll names Boris Britain's most popular politician

Image
David Cameron has issued an appeal for party unity – as a poll revealed his rival Boris Johnson would make a far more popular leader. The Prime Minister used a speech to a private Tory fundraising dinner to warn that voters always punished divided parties. A source at the annual Carlton Club dinner on Thursday night said the Prime Minister told senior Tories that the party ‘must not go back to the bad old days’. Rivals: David Cameron has issued an appeal for party unity - as a poll revealed his rival Boris Johnson would make a far more popular leader His decision to speak out on the issue underlines growing concern within Tory high command about discontent with both the Coalition and Mr Cameron. But his discomfort increased last night with the release of a poll showing London Mayor Mr Johnson was now a far more popular choice to lead the country.   The YouGov survey for the Guardian said that Mr Johnson was the only serving politician in Britain to

Woven crowns and Kelly Brook the queen of glamour on the front row: Bora Aksu goes regal for spring/summer 2013

Image
Turkish designer Bora Aksu is known for his signature cocktail dresses, and today's show hinted that he might want a certain young royal to be spotted in one of his designs some day soon. Theatrical layered dresses in pastel shades were teamed with round-toed court shoes, simple clutches and elaborate woven crown-style headpieces, and the audience could not miss the nod to duchess Kate, the nation's newest style icon. Aksu wouldn't confirm whether Kate had been behind the designs, instead referencing another royal style icon: Queen Victoria's grand-daughter. Light layers gave the dresses an ethereal effect as the models glided down the catwalk and contrasting clutches added pops of colour Speaking ahead of the show at Somerset House Aksu said: 'My main starting point for inspiration came from Queen Victoria's grand-daughter, Marie, who became the Queen of Romania in 1922.   'The way she embraced traditional Romanian

He was the boy who never aged and now a 100-year-old book about intrepid adventurer Peter Pan seems to share the same trait after it was plucked from a charity shop bin bag in almost mint condition. The beautifully illustrated first edition of JM Barrie's Peter Pan In Kensington Gardens, was discovered by staff as they rifled through a bin bag full of books and bric-a-brac donated to an Oxfam store in Alderly Edge in Cheshire. Published in 1906, the novel, which is set prior to the author's most famous work originally called Peter Pan and Wendy, features around 50 detailed illustrations.
